English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Conference


'English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Conference'
at ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia!

The Conference will be devoted to the vital issue of adapting ESP teaching methods to today’s student profile. Participants will discuss contemporary trends in ESP, as well as available ESP teaching methods. 20 hands-on workshops will provide a valuable opportunity to gain practical knowledge in dealing with multiple challenges of teaching English to students of various majors. Participation in the Conference will be especially beneficial for university teachers and professors teaching English in non-linguistic institutions.
Workshops on relevant ESP topics will be delivered by experts in the field from leading universities of USA, Netherlands, Honduras, Russia, and will cover such engaging topics as
1. Student-centered correction techniques: boosting student autonomy;
2. Extra materials for EL classes: enhancing student experience;
3. English for Science and Technology: integrating communicative approach and technical vocabulary;
4. Visual aids in EL classroom;
5. Multiple intelligence in the classroom: visuals / audials / kinesthetic;
6. Critical thinking skills: developing effective analysis and argument;
7. Managing mixed ability classes; and many other useful and inspiring topics.
